Traces

2025 — ongoing

Ireland

This project unfolds within the domestic environment and attends to the material traces of everyday family life. The photographs linger on surfaces marked by use: water residue, dust, hair and subtle shifts in objects over time. These details hold duration. They register repetition and the quiet persistence of daily routines.

Home is approached as a space shaped through touch, maintenance, and ongoing care. Walls, sinks, tables, and floors carry the accumulation of gestures.

The work is created on 35mm film, which I develop and digitize at home. Film functions as a material surface within the same field as the spaces it records. Scratches, dust, and chemical traces remain visible, folding process and subject into one continuum.

The project reflects on how presence settles into matter. Time becomes perceptible through accumulation, and life reveals itself through what stays behind.
